Booking a flight has its pros and cons. It's a good idea to look through all the important facts before making a reservation. Undoubtedly, a brief idea about airlines’ policies and ways of working gives you better control over your itinerary. Continue reading to know everything before you go ahead and make Spirit Airlines Reservations.
What Is Spirit’s Frequent
Flyer Program?
Spirit is an ultra-low-cost airline, so it is evident that its majority passenger base focuses on getting
the cheapest flights possible. By becoming a member of its Free Spirit Loyalty program, you will get several perks on your Spirit Airlines Reservations such
as Car Rental and hotel services. The program has three tiers with added
benefits at each higher level. The tiers are named Member, Silver, and
Gold.
The only unappealing fact
about Free Spirit is that it is just for Spirit Airlines and does not work for
other air carriers. For passengers who prefer Spirit for most of their flying,
signing up for the program is a good deal.
Meals and Beverages Served On
the Plane
Spirit does not have an
option of complimentary snacks or beverages onboard. You have to understand,
it’s an ultra-low-cost airline. But that does not mean you cannot buy food and
drinks. You can access the menu on www.spirit.com and pick your preferences.
Make sure you carry your credit card or debit card as cash is not accepted as a
payment method on the plane.
The airline does not have a
separate menu for dietary meals or people with allergies. If you are allergic
to peanuts or any other food substance, please inform the airline after making
your Spirit Airlines Reservations.
Spirit Airlines Baggage
Policy
Spirit accepts one (1) paid
checked item per passenger. The baggage should come under the weight and size
measurements allotted by the airline. If the baggage goes past 50lbs (23 kg)
and the size requirements 80 linear inches (203 cm), then the passenger will
have to pay an additional fee for overweight and oversized baggage. You can
carry one (1) check item per passenger with you.
Some sports equipment incurs
an extra fee. You can bring a personal item that can fit under the seat in
front of you.
Items such as diaper bags,
duty-free goods, restraint seats, crutches, walkers, and other such assistive
devices do not fall under the carry-on baggage. Kindly check the entire list of
such items before making Spirit Airlines Reservations.
What about the Travel Classes
of Spirit Airlines?
Spirit usually operates
short-haul flights and is an ultra-low-cost airline whose main motive is to
provide the cheapest ticket possible. Setting up travel classes will just
confuse its passengers. However, they do have a special seat called, “Big
Front Seat”. The dimensions of this seat vary as different aircraft
have different capacities and structures. Overall, this seat comes with extra legroom
(up to 6 inches) which inevitably brings more comfort for passengers. Some
aircraft have 4 Big Front Seats, and some have 10. If this is something you are
interested in, then get these seats for an additional fee ranging from 1USD to
50 USD.
Spirit Airlines Refund and Cancellation
Policy
Spirit has a 24- hour Refund
Policy for all its eligible tickets. If a passenger decides to cancel their
reservation within 24 hours of purchase, he/she will be entitled to a full
refund. If the passenger fails to cancel within 24 hours of making Spirit
Airlines Reservations but does it between 168 hours, an extra cancellation fee
will be incurred.
